I love summer. Absolutely love it. We have been busy the last week. We went camping with some friends at Elk River. Lots of fun. Turns out our tent really is huge! We fit 4 adults, 1 child and a pack and play with room to spare. None of us really slept, except Jay. We ate very well though. We were debating about going to see the huge tree, go to the falls or go home and go to the pool. Katelyn made the decision for us by cutting her
foot so we went home, but not before stopping at the doctor's office for stitches. I stayed with her for stitches and a shot and the boys took the kids home and started cleaning up.

On Monday we headed to Idaho Falls. It was the longest drive of my life (or so I thought). We went with another couple and dropped them off near Stanley to float the middle fork of the Salmon, then we headed the rest of the way. Total drive time: 12 hours. It was horrible. We didn't get to my parents house until 1:30 a.m.!We had a great time while we were home though. We did a little shopping, went boating,
miniature golfing, and of course
watched the fire
works. While we were boating the boys failed to reapply sunscreen so they were all lobsters. My poor brother Greg couldn't wear a shirt for a while. Poor guy.
The Melaleuca Freedom Celebration was, as always, amazing! Forty-five minutes of fireworks put to music. We had to rope off our "area" on Tuesday just to be sure we had a place to sit during the show. Jay and I volunteered to take all my cousins, well, six of them, to the greenbelt before the fireworks. We had fun walking around, playing on the toys and eating lots of yummy food. It was tiring walking around the whole thing with little kids that were also tired but it was good exercise.

The hardest part of the whole week was coming back to Moscow. I miss my family and wish there weren't an 8 hour difference between us. The drive home took 13-hours which it made it the worst drive of my life. We picked the couple back up near Salmon. Really it was way past Salmon, with an hour on a windy dirt road. I kept asking Jay and if we had died and ended up in hell. The drive back to Moscow was very long and very windy. I don't recommend Lolo pass to anyone.
It's good to be back home though. However, I can't wait to see my family again.

Ooh, Lolo pass is horrible! I remember taking that once as a kid between Walla Walla and Billings...you poor thing!
If we had only known you were in IF! How did I spend the 4th? Listening to the fireworks from Rob's mom's living room while Nate slept and Rob actually watched them closer in town. Oh well, I got to see the fireworks in Logan the day before while he watched Nate, so it's a good trade ;) But we were all in the same town and didn't know it! Ironic.
Cute picture of Jaid, can you email it to me?!?! Thanks, Marci
Oh, and by the way thanks again for taking the kids, Jaidyn had lots of fun with you & Jay!
